Summer Fayre

🌞  WOW. What an incredible day. The school was bursting with brilliant games, stalls, entertainment, food and fun and we showed everyone that a little bit (ok a lot) of water wasn't going to stop us! Thank you so much to all those who took the time out of their weekend to come and join in the happy chaos. We hope you enjoyed the awesome activities which ranged from fruit darts (should totally be in the Olympics) to guessing the staff members from baby pics! Thanks to you, we raised a staggering £4700 - what a way to end the year!

💙 The Summer Fayre is an enormous event and takes a Herculean effort to organise and run. It is only right that we say a giant thank you to the core team, Libbs, Nimmy, Mrs Farrell, Laura, Claire, Helen, Rochelle, Ana Laura, Lucy, Christine, and Habib who worked tirelessly and relentlessly to make it happen.

💜 We would be here all Summer if we had to name everyone who then helped to collect, ticket, set up, name soft toys, run stalls, sell bikes, paint faces, donate bags of booty, bake, gather prizes and count coins, so we will have to settle for an enormous heart felt thank you to absolutely everyone who volunteered in every way to help make the day such a stunner!

🏆  The raffle was, once again, off the scale with donations from Moseley Folk, Harvest, Jungle Club, ROOTS 14, Jungle Ranger, Guthrie & Ghani, Featherstone Bread, Hedshed, Armadillo, The Juke, Loves Football, Aiden McDowell, The Jewellery Stop, Mankind Barbers, Julia's Scissors, CDC Dance, Enki, Pause Coffe Shop, Levain & Cherry, Early Bird, Scooners & Loco Lounge!

❤️  These businesses always say yes (unlike some of the retail giants) and are so happy and willing to support the school and the Kings Heath community so please do remember their kindness and generosity when you are shopping local. Even the smallest of purchases mean the world to these wonderful independent businesses that are just on our doorstep!

🍴  For those who sampled the fabulous food, you know it was delicious, but did you know that Spice Merchant donated those tasty treats for free and Papa Johns gave 50% of sales to the school. Absolute Legends - please click on their menu next time you are looking for a take away!

⚽️ Soggy sports were the order of the day but our professionals (who gave their time for free) stuck it out to give the kids lessons and the chance to score some goals. Huge thanks to LOVES FOOTBALL, KINGS HEATH FC RANGERS, MINI ALTHETICS SOUTH BIRMINGHAM AND PRICEBRAZIER TENNIS for making this happen.

🎉 If you were lucky enough to catch the main stage then you won't have been disappointed with magic from Happy Feet, workshops from Circus Mash, Ms Map's choir, Ms Farrell's Fiesta and the battle to end all battles between Lucy from 6K and Mr Court (hosted by Mr Clabon)! A special thanks to them all for coming and making it such a super spectacle!

💜 Now, down to some serious business...

  • Jai from 3H smashed the hoopla competition with a head spinning score of 80!

  • Evelyn from 4H stormed to victory in Fruit Darts with a whopping 3100 with Barney in 3P coming second with 950 and Johan in 5P claiming third place with 770. Poor fruit, happy kids!

  • Alyssia in Yr 5 reached a mind boggling 30 minutes and 55 seconds on the hula hoops, which is longer than an episode of Bake Off!

🌞 ☀️ What a day, what a year, what a school!

❤️  Enjoy the break and we will see you in September for another jam packed, fun filled, community focused year.
