ART INSPIRED! sponsored event 10th May 2024

🎨🌈 ART-A-THON BRINGS A BRUSHSTROKE OF LAUGHTER, A SPLASH OF HAPPINESS AND 💥 *£5126* MAKING IT A MASTERPIECE OF SCHOOL COMMUNITY AND SPIRIT!

🌈 What a result! The outdoor classroom was transformed into a gorgeous gallery filled with colour and creativity. Well done to all the children who took part, we hope you are inspired to try more awesome activities at home now too.

✨️ After school, the playground was buzzing with a heady mix of delighted screams every time Mr Court and Mr Clabon were hit with a sponge and the shouts of glorious victory when the bullseye target was sprayed for a win! A heart felt thankyou to all the members of staff that took the time to help and hang out. The teachers are celebrities to the children and it means so much to have them involved and so willing to play!

🌟👏 The main aim of the day was to allow the children to have fun and for parents and carers to join in too - we hope that was achieved. However, the other goal was to raise money for those WOW Days and WOW did you do that!! 💥 OVER £5000 HAS BEEN RAISED 💥 which is a staggering amount!!!

🌟 All three WOW days will now be FUNDED - with some change to go towards another one at Christmas time too! Thank you, thank you to everyone who sponsored, shared the JustGiving page and spent money at the playground event. Every coin donated has made a difference and the WOW events will be an absolute treat for every child to enjoy and to experience learning in a more exciting and enriching way. You are all total legends!

💗 Finally, the list of thank-yous which, we hope, shows how much time and effort goes into these events. Thank you to Mr Clabon for organising and supporting the event within the school and allowing us to make a massive mess and to Sam who set us up and cleared away! Thanks to all the members of the PTFA who helped to organise and run the event. It was fairly mammoth this year so we salute you. Thank you to all the many volunteers who prepare for and rock up on the day helping with the crazy prep, sweet bag filling, creating the games, running all the stalls, operating the candy floss machine for several thousand hours, gathering all the refreshments and raffle prizes and everything else in‐between. Events just wouldn't happen without kind people giving up their time.

✨️ Special thank you to Sian for creative support and the making of the most beautiful signs, Nimmy for weighing and bagging 16k of confectionery, Michaela for the wonderful, handpainted hoopla game and Jo (both parent and art teacher at Bishop Challenor) who not only made games, gathered a gaggle of GCSE students to help run workshops but also stepped in (with more staff support from Bishop Challenor) last minute to run the year 6 workshops too! Above and beyond and brilliant.

🎨 We will be sending some detailed information about the artists who helped on the day so you can stalk them and find out how you can get involved with what they are doing locally, but a huge thank to Laura Howell, Panda/Flake, Ruth Millington and Stirchley Printworks for their hard work and patience on the day. It was incredible to watch the pupils respond so positively to them.

That's it! Thank you all again, now on to booking those awesome WOW events that YOU have made happen. 🌟
